It is June in the heartland and you can feel it and see it. Flowers are blooming and the heat and humidity is here. The sounds and sights of people outside and vacations being launched. The sound of motorcycles often fill the streets and as an enthusiast I would love to ride.
In the heartland, (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana) you get a full taste of the seasons. The last few years we have had more than our taste. Just getting over the “Artic Blast / Polar Vortex” many low temperature records were broken. It was as if we entered the “Ice Age”. Not only did the heartland get hit, so did the south with record low temperatures and snow. I am glad the frozen time has expired, however the heat and humidity has seemed to come early. Regardless, I am more of a fan of Spring, Summer and Fall than I am of Winter. The most I like about winter is for it to snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and be melted by New Years Day. I also like it to snow when I want to go snow skiing. But the weather is not in control by us.
Back to the topic of June. I would like to encourage you to a random act of kindness this month. Recently a video went viral about a woman at a local restaurant drive-thru that bought the food for the customers in the car behind her. As a result the people in the car behind her also paid for the people behind them. It went on for some time. I liked this true story so much I will provide this act the next time I’m at a fast food drive-thru. It was a simple act of kindness that I am sure brought some joy to people and it became contagious. I hope contagious acts of kindness continue. Will you participate in this act at least once for June? If so, please share your act with me online by posting it on my blog. I would love to hear about it and share it with others. In the meantime slow down, enjoy the wonderful season of summer, take in and savor every day and every moment and share joy and kindness with others.
Blessings and Kind Regards,
