Most people have heard of “Fair Weather Fans”. They are usually fans of a team, athlete, or movie star as long as they are doing well, and well known.

Conversely, “Non Fair Weather Fans” are dedicated and loyal fans that stick with their teams, athletes and movie stars no matter what. Whether they are “on top of their game” or not. Whether they are down or they are up. They are true and loyal fans.

Sometimes you may have friends like this. They are your friends and stay by your side no matter what. Through good times and bad times. On the mountains and in the valley. These type of friends I call “Non Fair Weather Friends.”

Conversely you may have friends or acquaintances that were there only when you were on top. When you were popular, successful, wealthy and influential. When you go through tough times, lose your money and home, a public divorce they seem to vanish. These are “Fair Weather Friends.”

I have been gifted and blessed with several “Non Fair Weather Friends.” They have been a phone call away, and would do just about anything for me. I couldn’t have gotten through some dark times without them. I am very thankful for them. Just as they have been there for me, I too will always be there for them.

It is also good to have friends that like you because of you, not who they or someone else wants you to be.  True friends (non-fair weather friends) Like you for you, encourage and lift you up.  They believe in you and are there for you no matter what.  Similar to close family they are “Non-Fair Weather Friends.”
