Free Will… Oh that free will…

God gave us a free will since the creation of Adam and Eve.  It was the disobedience of Eve and Adam that man fell and was separated by sin from God.  Sin compounded and the only way to God is through the sacrificial suffering and death Jesus Christ did for us.

We all have a free will.  We can believe or not believe.  We can accept or not accept.  We can sin.  We have a choice.  It is called free will.  The consequences of sin is death and an eternal separation from God in hell.  It’s not me saying that, it is The Lord God who says that.  He is a holy God and cannot accept or be in the presence of sin.

God gave us a gift, a free gift to save us from separation from Him in the gift of accepting and believing in Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have ever lasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son. John 3:16-18

Once you are truly saved, Jesus enters your heart.  You are a “new creature”  The Holy Spirit will remind you of when and if you are sinning. God’s word teaches how to be honorable, good, holy, repenting.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man boast.”  Ephesians 2:8-9

Unfortunately the world and the Prince of the air (satan) will tempt you in many ways. Sometimes it’s hard to resist.  He wants to destroy you.  He wants you to fail.  He wants you to give up.  Christian and non Christian.  Satan knows that God loves you so much he gave his only begotten Son into this world to save you.  So Satan will work very hard on you.  I think he works harder on Christians and laughs when we fail.  Don’t give into that part of your “free will”  Resist the devil.  Resist temptation.  Love God and His Word.  If you focus on what is good, and holy.  Read and study. Stay in church.  It becomes difficult for satan to work on your free will to make the wrong choices.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” James 4:7

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

“And thou shall love The Lord with all they heart, with all they soul, with all thy might.” Deuteronomy 6:5

“And Jesus said unto him, thou shalt love The Lord they God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all they mind.” Matthew

I myself have made many mistakes and failed many times.  In fact I lost almost everything more than once.  I thought God didn’t love me and that I failed Him and everyone that loved me.  However God didn’t stop loving me.  His love is never ending and unconditional.  He will bring certain people into your life to lift you up.  Satan will also bring people into your life to bring you down.  You must know the difference.  The Word and the Holy Spirit will help you.

No matter the challenge, no matter the circumstance.  Don’t give up and don’t give into Satan’s lies.  Pray always, read the word often, surround yourself with good true “non-fair weather” Christian friends. The type of friends and family that will be there no matter what or where you are at.

“Blessed in the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly. Nor standeth in the way of sinners, not sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”  Psalm 1:1

“Confess your faults one to another and pray ye one for another that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16

Free will is tempting.  Wrong choices may not seem like wrong choices at the time.  I know it’s an over used statement, but think; What would Jesus do?  What would Paul do?  May you make the right choices and learn from the wrong choices.  Seek God and His wisdom in your choices and for you life.  He loves you.  He is always there.  Choose wisely.  Not worldly, but by the wisdom of God and His word.

Now I have friends that are unsaved.  I eat, work, and play sports with the unsaved.  However a saved person is to be that light in the darkness.  You do not have to cut yourself off from the world.  Your in the world, but if your saved, your not of the world.  God wants you to live with purpose, navigate with principles from His word, and explore life with passion.  It’s the title of my blog.  Being a Christian you don’t cut yourself off from the world unless you really believe God has called you to do that.  Live life to its fulliest,  Enjoy the wonderful creation God has given you.  Enjoy each moment. A breath of fresh air, a sunrise, a sunset, good food, exercise, friends, good movies, good music…  Just remember you are a child of God with a free will.  Choose to love and honor your Creator.  Take care of you health, and your loved ones.  Help those in need or less fortunate.  Volunteer, and work hard at what you do.  Hate your job. Think of those who don’t even have a job.  Hate your circumstances, pray and work to change them.  God gave you life and talents.  Use them, enjoy them and share them.

“Let you light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16

You may be the only “Jesus” people will meet or know.
