Soon I will turn a year older the day before we recognize Jesus’ Birthday. Life passes so quickly and I have recognized that even more as I have gotten older. The thoughts I express below are from an inspiration of a writing by Bonnie L. Maher that is framed on my wall. I have expanded it to my own additions, words, feelings, and thoughts.
Living Life
Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Live with integrity and work hard. Be appreciative of others and express it in words, deeds, and action. Say, “thank you”, “I appreciate you
“, “I love you”, I am thinking of you”, “great job”…, Yesterday is the past, learn from it, and forgive as it frees the soul. Tomorrow is not promised. Don’t worry. Today is now, live in it; it is why it’s called the present. Make eye contact and make your handshakes and hugs sincere and meaningful. Walk in confidence and optimism for you are loved more than you know, especially by your Creator. Love the life you are given – search for your purpose and pursue it with a glad heart, as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It guides you to become that which you aspire to be. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Laugh often. It is the best medicine for the soul. Realize you are blessed and appreciate the little things in life, and enjoy them. Some of the best things in life are really free. Take time for yourself – plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you’ve been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment.
You are a creation from God. You do matter and what you do for others does matter. It’s not about how many things you have, or money you make. It’s about how many lives you touch and good you create. Mistakes of the past will try to haunt you, but you have the choice not to let it. Rejoice in this day that the Lord has created. Launch each day with purpose, navigate with principles, and explore with passion!
May your Christmas be filled with much happiness, and rejoicing. May your cup run over with many blessings in this New Year.
