I woke up this morning, turned on my fireplace and turned on the T.V. to see startling images of the terrorist attack in the forms of bombing in Brussels.
I begin to flash back the images of the bombings in Paris in November, and what happened on American soil on September 11, 2001.
My thoughts and prayers go out to all who tragically lost their lives today, and the family and friends enduring the grief of losing someone they love so tragically.
I believe humanity should come together on a global level. I believe terrorism should not be permitted to exist anywhere. I feel that there should be a global war on terrorism and we should seek out those who seek to destroy human life by terrorist attacks.
I believe we should also not have to live in fear as it is fear that these terrorist want to spread. Terrorists seek to have us live in fear. As a man who believes in the one true God who spoke the universe into existence. Our Father who sent his Son into the world to save us so that we may have eternal life with Him. I will not be afraid. My God has said “Fear Not” more times in the bible than any other phrase or repeated words.
Our faith and hope should be in Him. And I hold to the verse of 2 Chronicles 7:14
“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
So I have been brought to tears in prayer as I think of those innocent lives ended by such an atrocious act. I think of all of those who have been murdered not only today, but by all terrorist attacks.
Yes our God asks us to pray and seek Him. Jesus asks us to love and turn the other cheek. However the bible is also full of stories of taking action not only in prayer, but that in efforts of ending wickedness and, yes, sometimes it means war.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord as it says in Joshua. We will pray, however I will also take action and do whatever is within my scope of influence to see that terrorism is brought to an end. Whether it is simply voting for the right President of The United States that will take a firm stand against terrorism, protect our nation and our interests, support our 2nd Amendment Rights, and build our military. Or it to support policies that fight terrorism across the globe. Or whether it is to pack my bags and go to help, work, serve, and fund organizations and efforts to help people hurt or displaced by terrorism. I will both pray and take action.
May you join me in prayer and efforts to see that terrorism is brought to an end.
Blessings and may God bless the United States of America and be with all those affected in Brussels.
