Although I do not believe people should chase after the approval of mankind. I am an avid believer in Colossians 3:23, “Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,” And overly desiring the praise of mankind can lead to vanity, envy, and often driven by ego. It can become a drive that leads to obsession and destruction. However, I do believe we all like sincere kudos, and the affirmations not just by people we love, respect, our earthly father, but by our Heavenly Father too. That is biblical as well. God did this audibly with Jesus, Matthew 3:17, “and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son,[a] with whom I am well pleased.”. Words of Affirmation is also a Love Language in which people provide and people receive to demonstrate their love, grow, and thrive. Although we are not to chase approval, we should give and receive sincere affirmations in love. Hebrews 10:24, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,”

If your children are doing well at anything, don’t hold back your affirmations upon them. Sincerely express them in words and actions. If your spouse does something that pleases you, let your spouse know. If a friend, or colleague, does something out of the way that is good, and honorable, please do not hold back sincere affirmations. This goes with just about anyone in person or online. If they share something, something wise, something profound, whether directed at you or not, let them know whether in actions or deeds, or simply smashing the like, or love button, and sharing it with others. And yes, by subscribing to their YouTube Channel or online blog.

These words and actions of affirmation is also sharing the light and salt to others. Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” It is also a demonstration on Whom you truly serve, John 13:35, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

This type of love is good, and can be contagious. How about we all catch that? How about we make that go viral?
