One of my favorite clothing and hiking equipment provider is the Life is Good line. The clothing portrays a character named Jake who enjoys many things in life. From hiking to camping, from fishing to skiing, from mowing the lawn to cycling and the list goes on. I like this character because he does what he enjoys, enjoys what he does, with a smile and life is indeed good to him.
Life is a precious gift that seems to go by so very quickly. When we were children to our teens, it seemed we may live forever and 30 or 40 seemed to be old. Life was fresh and we took risks. We made poor decisions and we made some good decisions.
We then grow older and life becomes a series of peaks and valleys. Some times a road that leads to a crash, or what we may assume as a dead end. But somehow we manage to overcome, many by faith, perseverance, incredible resilience, good friends, and family. Some may struggle in a valley for a long time, far from thinking, life is good.
However life is good. You only have one life. It’s not YOLO. (You Only Live Once) It’s you only have one precious life. Live it well as you can, enjoy it, and live it as healthy as you can.
Recently I got in contact with many old High School friends on Facebook. Many faced divorce, illnesses, cancer, loss of a child, and loss of a spouse. I some times assume they may have thoughts that life is not so good. I feel for their losses. I am both sympathetic and empathetic. Many told me how they recovered and pressed on. They were amazing stories of strength and faith.
In the bible God said there will be hard times whether you are a Christian or not. Times of trouble and times of great trials. However I say life is good. You must decide each day to live it to the fullest and thank God for your life, and what you may have, from the smallest of blessings. Be thankful for everything and everyone you have in your life.
There is much uncertainty going on in Russia, North Korea, and the Middle East. Christians are being persecuted and even killed for their faith. Even in the U.S. it seems many Christians are ridiculed or shunned for their faith. However God is still the same yesterday, and today, and Life is Good.
So I have many Life is Good shirts symbolizing many of the things I enjoy that adds to my happiness. This apparel reminds me as what Jake believes; no matter what you do or activity you participate in, Life is Good and enjoy the ride as it sure beats the alternative of not being alive at all. You have one life, it is priceless, and it is good.
So get up each morning, take a deep breath of fresh air, and tell yourself this is going to be a great day and God is good, and Life is Good!
May you launch with Purpose, navigate with Principles, and explore with Passion!
Blessings,
DW
